| "Why did I join fatmanslim?
I felt heavy, stodgy and on a slide to gross obesity.
What did I achieve? A healthier lifestyle and a higher level of fitness." |
|
| I had been steadily gaining weight for the last six years and despite the fact that my toes were
disappearing beneath a belly of fat I had been ignoring it. I have noticed also
that the amount of water required to fill the bath (with me in it) was getting
less and less (Archimedes Principle). My tailor had started adding a surcharge to my
bills for additional yardage. |
| As a single parent I want to be fit and able-bodied for as long as possible lest I become
a burden on my kids at an
early age. I had never dealt with the problem of weight gain in a structured
manner but fatmanslim seemed to have all the elements needed to attack the problem in a way
that could be sustained in the long term. |
| At the end of the 12 weeks of the programme I reflected on what I have really
changed about my lifestyle. Well firstly I am not eating rubbish like sweets
and McDonalds. I've gotten out of the habit of munching goodies at night and I
don't eat deep fried food at all. I walk whenever I can although this takes
a pounding while I'm busy at work. But it appears that my
weight is continuing to fall. I want to get rid of another 10kgs to bring me to
a more acceptable weight and size. At that point I will revisit my wardrobe and
restock with whatever I need. |
