What can you expect?
Setting sensible targets is
a really important part of a successful weight and waist loss plan. Men who
understand and accept that waist loss takes time are much more likely to be
successful than
those who are looking for an immediate quick fix.
Most men I come across have gained weight slowly over a period
of years. Sadly, as nice as it would be, it is unrealistic to expect to lose it
all in a few weeks.
To be successful you will need to set
realistic targets over realistic periods of time. Once you achieve your first target, you can then set another
one.
A sensible, healthy target is to lose about 1cm from around your waist each week
(this equates to a weight loss of about 2lbs or just under 1kg each week).
It is possible to lose waist more quickly and many men have lost between 10 and
20cm in their first 12 weeks on fatmanslim, but 1cm per week is a good target.
We know that a waist loss of 10cm (equivalent to a weight loss of 10kgs or
just under 2 stones) can make you feel fitter and much less likely to become ill as a
result of your weight. Therefore,
this should be your initial target. Losing 1cm a week from your waist means
that it will take 10 to 11
weeks to achieve this goal.
So here you have your 12 week target:
|
12 week fatmanslim target: |
 |
A waist loss of 10cm |
|
which is equivalent to: |
 |
A weight loss of 10kgs or 22lbs |
|
When you have reached your initial 10cm target, your emphasis needs to be on
maintaining your waist loss for a week or so.
Once you are confident that you are able to maintain this new level,
then you can set another target and attempt further waist loss.
There are no limits!
